Discover one of Cusco’s most distinctive formations on a Pallay Punchu trek from Cusco. Its red, ochre and green ridges resemble the folds of an Andean poncho and rise above vast Lake Langui-Layo.

This full-day experience is designed for acclimatized travelers. It combines a long road journey, breakfast and lunch en route, and a demanding high-altitude hike to the main viewpoints.

What to expect

Cusco pickup

Early-morning pickup from coordinated central locations or accessible hotels before traveling south from Cusco.

Continue through the southern valley into Canas province, passing rural communities and high-Andean landscapes.

Walk back to the vehicle, have lunch en route and return to Cusco, with estimated arrival in the evening.

High-altitude trekking safety

Altitude may cause headache, dizziness, nausea or shortness of breath. Tell your guide about any symptoms and descend when instructed. Oxygen and the first-aid kit are only for initial assistance and do not replace medical assessment or travel insurance.

Before you book

Pallay Punchu is located at high altitude and requires good acclimatization. We recommend spending at least two days in Cusco before the trek.
